Meet Your Hosts - John Beattie and Lilly Adkins
Hi there! We’re John and Lilly, and we’re so excited to have you here with us.
While we may not be in our 50s, we share a deep commitment to health, longevity, and always doing our best - both in running and in life.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of coaching hundreds of runners over 50, helping them achieve incredible marathon results. We understand that running at this stage comes with its own set of challenges, but with the right approach, you can thrive.
By the end of this 5-day challenge, you’ll feel confident and inspired to keep running strong for years to come. There’s nothing to lose by joining us - only the opportunity to discover how your best years are still ahead, both in running and in life!
You’re not just joining a challenge - you’re becoming part of a community of runners who, like you, are committed to pushing boundaries and discovering what’s possible.
We can’t wait to see you on the inside.
John and Lilly
Being suitable for the challenge does not depend on how fast or slow you are. Instead, we are looking to welcome runners who are keen to improve, value the role that running plays in a healthy longer life, and are able to see the benefits of a holistic approach.
100% yes you can still take part and we strongly advise you to do so. There is no direct running involved in the challenge (One physical task on day 3), so you certainly can take part. If you are injured, see it as a good chance to keep your mind occupied with something whilst unable to run!
We totally understand! The challenge is NOT designed to take over your life for the week. All tasks can be completed in your own time and all the live coaching sessions can be viewed back on replay. One of the key elements of the challenge will be the importance of valuing yourself and your time to be able to enjoy your training guilt free.
Through each of the 5-days, there will be a short task for you to complete, which is described in the private members' Facebook group. Throughout the day you'll have an opportunity to share your findings and ask for help if you are stuck with anything. We will be live each week to review the tasks and answer questions with personalised feedback.
Yes this challenge is for you if:
- You are coachable, willing to learn, listen, and embrace new ideas
- See running as an important part of your life as an over 50 and have exciting goals that you are working towards
- Value real people, human connection, and community
- Are willing to participate, get out of your comfort zone, and complete the challenge
No this challenge is not for you if:
- You are constantly after the next greatest quick fix to achieve instant results
- You know all the answers already and aren't willing to embrace any change
- You are simply after a 'training plan' and aren't bothered about other areas
- Running is not something that you are bothered about improving with
