John Beattie - After a long career as an elite runner (Including achieving 2.16 at London Marathon), John has since coached hundreds of marathon runners to smash PBs and achieve things they previously thought beyond them.
Lilly Adkins - Through her own experiences of overcoming serious injuries including hip surgery and 15-pins and 2 plates in her ankle, she used Strength and Conditioning to prove the doctors wrong and to still be able to continue to run pain free. This inspired Lilly to become a S&C coach and she has since helped hundreds of runners to avoid and overcome injuries as head S&C coach at Move Better Run Better.

Move Better Run Better (MBRB) is a multiple award-winning running coaching business originally set up by GB athlete and 2.16 marathon runner, John Beattie. Since its inception, John and the MBRB coaching team have helped hundreds of runners around the world to smash PBs, and achieve huge breakthroughs, both in running and life.
If you want a day of unnecessarily complicated science speak, overwhelming facilities, or being wired up to a treadmill, then this is NOT the day for you. We work with real people, leading real lives, not full-time professional athletes who can access this kind of infrastructure all the time. The day will therefore be about giving you simple, easy-to-implement strategies that you can take with you to apply in your own everyday lives well beyond this one day.
The event is taking place at the brand new facilities of the YMCA Activity Village in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The full address is Lord Hawke Way, Newark, NG24 4FH. This can easily be accessed via the A1, and is also under two miles from Newark Northgate train station (which is on the London Mainline).
There are several hotels in the area if you need overnight accommodation.
At MBRB, when runners are injured we always take a can do (not can't do) attitude. If you are unable to run at the time of the day, we still recommend joining us as there will be a TON of powerful learning taking place that will help you for years to come.
Since day one, a huge part of the success of MBRB has been its community. Everyone is welcomed with open arms, and we promise that there’ll be plenty of friendly runners you can meet and spend the day with, even if you don’t know anyone before arriving.
The other option is to bring a running buddy along with you or even treat them to a place. Simply select the quantity of bookings you would like to make at the checkout page.
As long as you are serious about your running and have enthusiasm to get involved in the day, then it does not matter how fast you are. This day is about YOU, not comparing with others. We will be providing a safe, open space where all runners are welcomed equally.
We have always welcomed runners wherever they are on their journey. This day will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to enjoy and we guarantee that you will be supported fully (especially by Coach Jules, who is everyone's biggest cheerleader!).
The running element will be taking place on the 400m track, so there is no danger of anyone getting lost or left behind.
Food is not included by us as part of the day.
The cafe within the building is highly recommended (caters for all dietary needs) and will be open.
Or you can bring your own food along with you.
We will have unlimited free hot and cold drinks available for you to enjoy.
For the morning part of the day, please come dressed to run. Bear in mind that the event is in January, so dress appropriately. After the practical sessions, there are showers and changing rooms where you can change into non-sportswear should you choose for the afternoon sessions.
